I am at the doTERRA convention this weekend and have learned so many amazing things!
One of the most memorable classes was on sleep. I knew sleep was important, but I didn’t know exactly how important it is for things such as:
- Decreasing Stress;
- Decreasing Inflammation;
- Weight Loss;
- Improving Memory;
- Improving Energy Levels;
- Improving Emotional Wellbeing;
- Overall Performance;
- Avoiding Accidents;
- Enhance Athletic Performance;
- Improving Cognitive Functioning;
- Decrease Risk of Diabetes and Heart Disease;
- Improving Moral Judgment;
- And more!
I learned that it’s really helpful to have a bedtime routine, like taking a bath or stretching. Since our body naturally detoxes at night, it’s best not to eat at least two hours before bed. It’s also very important that we are not staring at screens (phone, TV, laptop) right before bed. And, most importantly, it’s advised that we do not watch anything that’s going to activate our fight-or-flight stress response before bed – so no scary, violent or action-packed shows before bed!
If you are having serious issues getting a restful night’s sleep (like insomnia), diet and lifestyle changes more than likely can help you. Treat your gut first. doTERRA’s Cleanse and Restore kit is an amazing way to get our gut back in check. You can find out how to get doTERRA products here.
Essential oils are great for helping us get a relaxing night’s sleep. Here are some great oils to try rubbing on your feet before bed:
- Aroma Touch
- Roman Chamomile
Wishing you a great night’s sleep!
